At this free educational presentation, attorney Kumu Belcher will explain the basic process and documents of estate planning.
Simply put, estate planning is the process of putting together a plan, which will allow someone to step into your shoes to manage your assets in the event of incapacity or death. Estate planning is not a one-size-fits-all proposition; each person and family has a different situation and goals.

Kumu Belcher, attorney with Hawaii Trust & Estate Counsel was born and raised in Hilo, where he graduated from Hilo High School and the University of Hawai`i–Hilo, with a degree in cell and molecular biology. Prior to entering law school, he served as an East Hawaii Ocean Safety Officer and worked in special education at Hilo High School. He received his law degree from the William S. Richardson School of Law at the University of Hawai`i–Manoa in 2013, where he was a member of the Environmental Law Society.
